Students, families and staff at Sturminster Newton High School are celebrating today as Sixth Form students receive their A Level, BTEC and Level 3 results. While today provides an opportunity to recognise some exceptional individual achievements, it is first and foremost a celebration of an entire year group. We are incredibly proud of every student collecting results, recognising that success looks different for every young person and that each grade represents hard work, perseverance and personal achievement. Today’s celebrations reflect the determination, growth and resilience shown by students throughout their Sixth Form journey. Whether progressing to leading universities, specialist degree courses, apprenticeships, employment or further training, each student has their own story of success to celebrate as they take their next steps beyond SNHS.
The results achieved today reflect not only the dedication and perseverance of students, but also the strength of the partnerships that have supported them throughout their educational journey. Guided by the school’s vision that “It Takes a Village to Raise a Child”, today’s achievements are a testament to the collective efforts of students, families, teachers, support staff and the wider school community – including our ongoing partnership with Shaftesbury School’s Sixth Form.
Among those celebrating outstanding success is Leon, who achieved AAB and will be progressing to University College London (UCL) to study Astrophysics. Luke achieved A, A, Distinction and will continue his studies at the University of West England, where he will study Sports Rehabilitation. Ava achieved ABB and will be taking up a place at the University of Southampton to study Fine Art.
Alongside these impressive individual achievements, the school is particularly proud of the progress made by many students throughout their Sixth Form studies. Those demonstrating outstanding progress include Olivia, who will be progressing to study Chemistry at York University, Darcey, who is moving on to study Aerospace and Aeronautics, Georgios, who will continue his education through a degree in History and Archaeology, and Scott who has secured a prestigious place at University Campus of Football Business Scott, based at Wembley Stadium, where he will study football coaching.
The school is also celebrating particularly strong outcomes across several subject areas. Outstanding results were achieved within the STEM disciplines, with excellent value-added outcomes in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. Students also performed exceptionally well in the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), highlighting their curiosity, independence and commitment to extending their learning beyond the taught curriculum.

These successes have been made possible through the commitment of our students, the support of their families, and the dedication of our teachers and support staff who work tirelessly to help every young person flourish.”

As the school community celebrates these achievements, students leave SNHS equipped not only with strong qualifications, but also with the confidence, character and values needed to thrive in the future. We are grateful to the families, staff, mentors, volunteers and wider community whose support has helped our young people succeed. Their achievements are a powerful reminder that it truly takes a village to raise a child.
