Catering and the Canteen at SNHS
At Sturminster Newton High School, we are proud to offer a modern, cashless catering system and a welcoming dining environment that supports healthy eating and student wellbeing.
Canteen Access
- The canteen is open at both break and lunchtime, giving students regular access to a wide variety of food and drink options.
Fresh, High-Quality Food
Our catering team prepares food on site every day, using fresh, high-quality and locally sourced ingredients. Students can choose from:
- A hot main meal and a vegetarian alternative
- Jacket potatoes with a variety of toppings
- A pasta bar with sauces and sides
- Hot puddings, cakes, and biscuits
- A wide range of ‘grab and go’ items including baguettes, paninis, wraps, and burgers
- Healthy homemade salads and fresh fruit
Cashless System
- Every student is issued with an electronic catering card, which can be topped up online via WisePay.
- Students eligible for Free School Meals have their daily allowance (currently £2.80) automatically loaded onto their card each day.
- Replacement cards are available from the School Office for £3.
Dining Facilities
- Our large canteen area provides a comfortable and sociable space to enjoy meals.
