The transition from Primary or another School is a big step and every child needs to be appropriately supported through it.
For those students in Year 6, we spend time in the summer term visiting schools, explaining how life works at SNHS and how welcome the students will feel. We discuss how quickly they will settle into life in secondary school and answer any questions they might have. We then welcome students for our annual ‘Step Up Day’ in July, and invite families into school for an Information Event in the Evening. Students with SEND and additional needs are usually offered additional transition sessions.
